October has arrived, and you know what that means: time to get spooky! You may be worried about missing your hometown’s local festivities, but not to fear! If you’ll be celebrating Halloween in Monterey County, there are plenty of fun activities for you and the whole family.
The Annual Carmel Pumpkin Roll
Forget carving pumpkins this year — roll them instead! On Saturday, October 13th, pick up your pumpkin on Ocean Avenue at Sante Fe Street and race to roll it through the course. The event lasts from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Carmel.
Haunted Ghost Tour
If you’re in the mood for something a bit more spooky, take a ghost tour through the Point Sur lighthouse. Enjoy spooky stories, a light buffet, and hot drinks, with all ticket sales going to fund the restoration of the Point Sur Lightstation. You’ll even have the chance to go through the truly haunted Triplex on the grounds.
Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest
For those who love dressing their pooches up pretty, this event is for you! On Sunday, October 21st in Carmel Plaza, help support Max’s Helping Paw, a charity that financially supports pet owners in need, and have your dog’s photo taken after he competes in any number of costume categories.
Head down to Seaside to do the monster mash at the Zombie Prom. The city shuts down a block on Broadway for a night of live entertainment and fun for the whole family!
Pacific Grove Trick or Treat Extravaganza
A number of Pacific Grove business will decorate their doors with ribbons and pumpkins to offer kids treats on Saturday, October 27th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There’s also plenty of live music and entertainment for all to enjoy.
