Valentine’s Day Travel Tips and Date Ideas

Posted on: February 7th, 2018 by Brian McLaughlin No Comments

Do you want to woo your loved one this Valentine’s Day? Look past the typical flowers and chocolates and consider a short getaway. No matter where you are on the roller Monterey County CA | Pacific Grove Hotelcoaster of romance, these travel tips will help make the holiday more memorable and fun.

Plan Activities

Whether you’re spending this day with a new flame, lifetime love, or with your friends – try to plan something ahead of time. Having activities set in place makes things easier and more exciting.

Tip: Pursue a common interest or hobby and you’ll feel more alive and engaged with one another.

Enjoy Where You Are

Let’s face it: Valentine’s day can be filled with high expectations.

If you catch yourself staring at your loved one halfway through your date night, unhappy with the reality compared to your dreams, try to relax. There shouldn’t be so much pressure to make this day perfect. Appreciate where you are and the perfectly-imperfect person you’re holding hands with.

Turn Off Your Cell Phone

If you’re with a date, nothing says ‘I’m not into you,’ more effectively than spending your night clicking away on your phone.

Whatever’s grabbing your attention away from the person you’re with, can wait.

Choose A Place That Suits Your Romantic State

Depending on the status of your relationship some hotels and resorts should stay off your radar.

If you’re looking for a more intimate location try a small and quaint boutique hotel. If you’re planning more of a blowout weekend, consider a big city hotel with late night amenities and activities.

If you’re planning a Valentine’s day soiree in California be sure to make a reservation at Butterfly Grove Inn. We are in the heart of it all – from Cannery Row to the Pacific Grove Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. We’re also dog-friendly! Give us a call at 831-250-8191 to reserve your room today.
